Foxyroks practical group workshops.
Globally, hundreds of thousands of skateboard decks are manufactured every year but after a colourful and exciting life on our urban streets, sadly, a large proportion of these fallen boards end up buried in landfill sites.
Skateboards are made from 7 layers of maple wood. Maple wood comes from beautiful, slow growing trees, which mature at around 30 years old. If left to flourish they can go on to live for up to 300 years, providing an oxygen rich atmosphere and an essential habitat for the planet’s wildlife.
At Foxyroks our aim is to save as many boards as possible and with respectful considered design we give them a second life.
Our workshops are designed to reach a broad audience, including corporates, Universities, schools and communities.
We offer engaging talks around the life cycle of the materials we use and give an insight into our national urban foraging scheme with examples of how we will be using the materials in the workshops.
The practical workshops are focused on allowing space to explore individual curiosity, learning new skills and having open discussions, whilst creating your own piece of unique skate art to take home at the end of your workshop.
We can cater for large groups and can also offer a tailored 1:1 programme.
Leading the workshop will be Chris Wiley, the founder and visionary behind Foxyroks.
Please get in touch and let’s find the workshop that suits you.
